14 Havkney GoodGymers ran 6k to Abney Park Cemetery to create 150 metres of crucial wood chip pathway to keep the park useable in winter for park users as well as protecting the vegetation and wildlife.
First a big shout out for next weeks group run and social!! Visiting Hollybush then on to Tad Turkish restaurant to celebrate Clair’s birthday 🎂
Thanks to Emily for leading the charge over to Abney Park. Meeting up With Quentin where we got fooled up with barrows, shovels and rakes plus a load of spot light to guide us through the darkness!
With a long path to protect we got straight to work filling the barrows up fast and taking the long run into the darkness to the end of the oath where we tipped out the woodchip and zipped back to the pile to fill up again.
Getting into our stride we managed to transform the path into its Winter coat! Doubling the distance we completed 2 weeks ago with a few less people.
150 meters of perfectly formed pathway and a lot of GG social plans later we were running back to base to receive the added treat of a refuelling sandwich!!
See you next week for some more fun on the run!!
