Gardening Bliss
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Newcastle.
- Monday, 17th of October 2022
On a sunny autumnal afternoon I attended Mrs D’s home to help with her gardening.
I wish every appointment I attended had the door open waiting for me and the person ready and waiting to greet me by name before I even had to knock or introduce myself, so special kudos and thanks to Mrs D for being at the ready.
After a quick call to a neighbour to procure some garden tools, I set to work clearing the front garden of some overgrown bushes and weeds. Over the course of about an hour and a half I managed to fill three large plastic bags with weeds, branches, unwelcome mushrooms and an assortment of rubbish, including broom heads, crisp packets, plastic bottles and sweet wrappers. I made a start clearing weeds from the driveway but ran out of time to complete that task.
Mrs D was extraordinarily friendly and welcoming and clearly in need of the assistance due to her COPD. Hopefully she feels much better about the state of her garden after a visit from GoodGym.
