Give him some credit
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Lambeth.
- Friday, 12th of February 2021
It all started when Mr F realised his mobile was low on credit and, panicking, asked for someone to top it up at the shop for him. Luckily I chose to drop in on him on the way, as he answered the door on the phone to his neice who explained she had already topped up his phone online as she always does and there was no need for me to go to the shops. Mr F then reiterated what she had said, waving around the money he had specially put aside for me, to prove he really had forgotten the arrangement. So, having established I was no longer needed, we had a quick chat about whether I had driven over (when I explained I had run he did say I looked fit which was kind, and offered me some crisps for energy) and what my name was, in an exchange that went something like "I'm Frances" "Claudia?" "No, Frances" "Cordelia?" "Frances, like the country but with an S" "Cuthbert?" "Never mind" And with that, I offered any final assistance (he declined) and left Mr F to his chat with his exasperated neice.
