Good things come to those queue wait
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Saturday, 29th of August 2020
This ended up being a 2 part mission... On Saturday, after a lovely cycle up the canal, I arrived early but Mr C was ready for me - electricity key in a handy pouch with all the details. We had a great chat about the local area before I ventured to the Post Office. Before leaving I looked up the opening times, and the closest open Post Office was 0.7 miles away (not a problem, I would run there, this is GoodGym!). Mr C was very concerned I would get caught in the rain, but I assured him it was no bother when I was running. Alas, the Post Office was closed when I arrived and I ran back to Mr C's to explain and return his electricity key.
Fortunately Mr C had enough electricity to last the weekend and it was convenient for me to return Tuesday lunchtime to complete the mission. This time this local Post Office would be open, but not without a long queue of people who must have been organising their post over the bank holiday. Never mind, I phoned Mr C to say there was a queue and my return would be longer than anticipated. Luckily I had a book in my bag - 2 chapters down and we were in! Mr C said this electricity top up will last him for 3 months, so he was thrilled to have had it sorted, and to have had two GoodGym visits :)
