GoodGym Haringey and the Enormous Cow Parsley
8 GoodGymers made their way 5km to help the Westbury Banks Nature Reserve in Haringey.

Once upon a time in the middle of Haringey, eight GoodGymers made their way to a little nature reserve next to a road.
There they found hundreds of cow parsley plants growing big and tall. The cow parsley shaded out other plants such as the tulips and roses. They made it hard to see the paths and steps. They even grew taller than Bugingham Palace!
So just like in The Enormous Turnip, the amazing GoodGym team got to work pulling out cow parsley by the roots. Along the way, we found a very hungry caterpillar (of a buff ermine moth), King Alfred’s cake fungus, sticky goose grass and five footballs.
It took a lot of work, but our team pulled and pulled until the tulips were revealed, the stairs were cleared, and Bugingham Palace could be seen again.
The moral of the story is: by working together, we can do anything!
After the task, we took some photos, enjoyed the beautiful sunset and headed home. Run leader Euclides wasn’t able to join us this week, but we are all rooting for him and hope to see him next week!
Join us next week at the New River Sports Centre (https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/new-river-sport-centre-needs-a-facelift-b8a16844-42bf-44d1-915f-e0c14d301357) and maybe a visit to a pub for someone’s birthday!
