Happy Palindrone Day! 22022022. And happy ambigram day too, that means that when written digitally it reads the same upside down as well as back to front.
And if only another 7 of you had turned up we would have had 22 runners! I wonder if any of you were completing your 22nd good deed tonight?
But it was great to have 15 of you along one of whom was Sarah joining us for the first time. You are very welcome, hopefully we will see you again soon.
Tonight’s task was a regular visit to the Real Junk Food Project’s town centre cafe The Gardner. Task owner Murray told us that In 2021, the project rescued 150 tonnes of food and fed 34000 people, very impressive and all staffed by volunteers. If you would like to see the cafe in action then they are open every day except Tuesday between 11 and 4 on a pay as you feel basis, so pop in for a coffee or a bite to eat. Or even better volunteer for a shift by contacting Murray at realjunkfoodbrighton.co.uk.
We did an amazing job of cleaning the kitchen, main cafe and upstairs cafe focussing on all the extra bits that don’t always get done at the end of a busy shift, like table legs and skirting boards. Task done it was time for the run and a 'two' themed fitness session featuring a course of 22 reps of sit ups, press ups and step ups and of course we did the whole thing twice!
