Having a Bale of a Time setting up Marshfest
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the The Welcome Centre in Huddersfield.

After a sunny humid and showery parkrun regular GoodGymmers Louise and Ben headed down to the nearby Ukranian Club where the organisers were busy setting up stalls and stages for Marshfest. This is a fantastic grass roots music festival raising funds for the Welcome Centre, which provides a range of supportive services including a food bank, bedding, clothing and advice to individuals and families in the Huddersfield area suffering with poverty and in financial crisis.
It was a hive of activity and there was plenty to do, however our main task was moving a big pile of straw bales and make some seating for the music lovers arriving this afternoon. We were joined by Rob and Malc from parkrun who came to lend a hand as well. With some lifting and shifting and much discussion over design, the task was soon complete, looking good and pleasingly symmetrical! There was even time to relax in the sunshine with a brew before heading home.
Looking forward to heading back later to hear some great local bands!
