4 GoodGymers ran 4k to help One Big Family Homeless Charity’s community garden on a special Saturday Starter session!!
Meeting at the task seemed a little strange but it allowed us to get stuck straight into some graft with One Big Family, working hard on their community garden which helps to provide an outlet for some of their service users to work towards something positive for the community.
With the paths totally over run we got clearing using hoes, spades, wheelbarrows and big and tiny brooms to remove all vegetation from 100 metres of paths.
As the compost piles got bigger we worked faster!! Partly as the rain was now coming down pretty heavily and the end was in sight!
A final battle with some compost certainly opened up our airways!!
To round off the session we took a lovely 4k run down and around Battersea Park, skipping over puddles and bounding back with a Spring in our step!!
Thanks for coming along and hope to see you all at our next session on Wednesday!!
Smooth Running
