Indefinite leave(s) to remain compost
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Sunday, 30th of June 2019
We met at Mrs J's house to help out with some gardening she isn't able to do herself. Luckily Saturday's sweltering weather had given way to a merely very warm Sunday. Great conditions for some gardening.
Earlier that day Mrs J's son had cut back a large bush, so we started out by cleaning up all the cuttings off the ground and piling them into garden waste bags. Once that was done we spent our remaining time weeding between the pavers. There were a lot of weeds - in the end five packed bags full, ready to be collected by the council - so it really made a big difference.
Mrs J was very thankful and we were happy to pitch in and do our part in keeping her lovely garden area looking good and under control.
