Keeeeep Danson!
4 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Bexley.
- Saturday, 13th of November 2021
- Led by Tim Dickson
GoodGymers Peter, Johnny, Sarah, Liam and Martin joined the super-friendly volunteers from the Friends of Danson Park to work on the woodland walk.
Our first task was to move logs from piles where they had been left when the Council cut down some trees, and position them along the edges of the path to make the route more defined. A log-ical way to reuse the cut wood!
Then we shovelled wood chippings into wheelbarrows and ferried them to the path where we raked them out to make a springy new surface to walk on. We got into a wheel-y good routine and completed a longer stretch of the path than originally planned.
The end result looked fantastic and it was very rewarding to hear the compliments and thank yous of other park users as they walked along the renovated trail.
Afterwards we were treated to hot drinks by the manager at the local pub, Danson Stables ☕☕☕. Very kind.
What a great way to spend a Saturday morning! There's still more of the path to be tackled and hopefully GoodGym Bexley can help make it happen!
