Tonight, four of Barnsley's finest came together for a speedy task to help the local council
Thanks to a last minute task request from Barnsley council, GG Barnsley was back on and raring to go! It was chilly and wet, but that wasn't going to stop us!
After a quick group task brief and handing out some preprepared maps, we shuffled down the road to meet local councillor Cath who had some newsletters for us to deliver. The community newsletters we full of local stories and event listings for Christmas, and councillor Cath was grateful we could help! Armed with a bag each, and our GG Barnsley flyers too of course, we paired up and began going door to door.
For the next hour, the four of us flew from door to door, negotiating creaky gates, awkward letter boxes, leaping over puddles, dodging dog poo, stroking a giant cat and praying we'd still have all our fingers by the end - there was some fiesty dogs out there! Once completed, we headed back to base a little lighter and a little wetter, but happy to have done another good deed!
To finish off the team did a 'sprint' and some deep bench squats, before stretching off the legs (and fingers!) and saying our goodbyes!
Another good deed well done, great job team! :-)
Well Done to Rachael for smashing her first parkrun at the weekend! Give her a huge cheer here
