Lopping mad
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Canals and Rivers Trust and Sustrans in Leicester.

6pm start = 5.59pm heavy shower! Just as we met at Belgrave Lock to do some lopping and litter picking the rain came hard enough to flash flood the towpath we were planning to work on.
Stu and Lindsay hopped over the water to attend to the National Cycle Network path with their loppers while Dave, Jen and Huw got their feet damp getting to the masses of overhanging branches on the towpath on the Belgrave side of the water. Mel did a sterling job blitzing the litter around the area.
We shared stories of our London Marathon adventures from Sunday and by the time we'd finished the flooding had treated back to where it belonged and the paths were clear both at floor level and above for walkers, runners and cyclists. Super work!
Well done also to Mel who is the first GG Leicester member to complete the GoodGym 5k earning herself a fantastic medal and raising money to support GoodGym's activities in the process.
