FIVE runners came along for an orienteering challenge at our 14th group run!
We welcomed Paul to the gang, who was fresh from running 20km or something crazy like that, what's a few more eh? We welcomed him in with a banging musical warm up!
Our mission was to spread the word about err.. missions! With more runners signing up for missions in Barnsley, we needed to get the word out to the wider community and older people in the area, and deliver some of our shiny new leaflets.
With runners paired up, the race was on - each pair was given a nearby(ish) location from the map to run to with their leaflets.
Sharon and Grace were the first back and were rewarded with a quick medicine ball game before being given a second location.
Paul and Mairead's second location might have been a little further away but I knew they could handle it.
This is the longest run I've EVER done! - Mairead
We delivered leaflets to all sorts of places: * supported housing * GP surgeries * community centres * care homes
With everyone back and some heated debate between the Feeney sisters about who had run the furthest (Sharon and Grace's agility workout definitely evened it out), we boshed our press ups for the November challenge and had a good stretch out - nice one team!
