Meals on two wheels
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Tuesday, 7th of April 2020
This morning I accepted a mission to help Mrs S get food whilst self-isolating. With clear blue skies and the sun out, I made the quick 10 minute cycle ride over to her home in Hackney. Upon arrival I greeted Mrs. S from a distance and collected her small shopping list. She was happy to see me as she is unable to go out at the moment to pick up food. She also said she would like to avail of the service on a weekly basis if possible. With a shopping list and cash in hand, I cycled to Tesco. The queue to enter Tesco was long but thankfully it moved quickly. Once inside I collected what items I needed. Mrs S had some special dietary needs that I wasnt really familar with so some phone calls were made for clarification. She was cheery and happy I rang to ask questions. I managed to get all items on her list and no substitutes were needed. Shopping done and backpack on, I cycled back to Mrs S. to drop off her goods, being careful not to break the eggs! Mission completed. Happy cooking Mrs S !
