Merry Fridge-mas everyone!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Coventry.
- Saturday, 21st of December 2019
Here's what Mr G of CV4 had to say about the mission:
Mr G would like to thank the Good Gym volunteers once again for all their help with his new fridge!
For the first time ever, two GoodGym Coventry runners ran 5km ish to complete a one off mission to help an older person in their home.
On a rare dry December day, Katherine and Laura ran to Mr G’s house to help him move a new fridge and oven into place in his kitchen as they had been delivered to the living room and he was unable to move them himself. This involved a little bit of furniture/appliance removal, moving out the old fridge and making space for the new oven, and removing all of the packaging and insulation so that the appliances are ready to use.
Whilst we played Tetris with white goods, we shared our plans for Christmas dinner and agreed that roast potatoes are the best bit of a roast dinner (controversial?), closely followed by pigs in blankets.
We wished Mr G a Merry Christmas and as it was starting to get dark and trying to rain (deer), we hastily made our way back to our start point, feeling full of Christmas cheer!
