7 people ran 5.5km to give out food to the homeless
Tonight, it was a very warm welcome to GoodGym ‘newbies’ Clare and Lee. Along with regulars Rob, Chan, Gary and last week’s first timer Shalini. After our intro’s we were on our way to the Birmingham Mission Care centre. On our arrival, we had a nice chat with John, part of the mission team who explained why what we were doing was so important.
Who always wanted to be a dinner lady/man?
So, it was on with the task, which firstly involved giving out knifes and folks to everyone and then was followed by serving up the food. We all looked very ‘fetching’ in our plastic white pinnies! They especially seemed to suit Rob and Chan!
The dreaded hills
After doing our good deed, which was very much appreciated by all the guests we were back on our way. Once arriving at the post office, we did 7 minutes of hill sprints, with jog back down recoveries. Rob and Clare led the way, powering up those hills. Lee showed great determination on his first hill session, Chan worked as hard as ever and top work by Garry who soldiered on with a bit of a calf niggle. Once finished everyone was unsurprisingly out of breath, so it was a steady run back to base.
Next week we will be out doing good again, it would be great if you could join us sign up here.

Now I know I am getting old. Every ones photo is out of focus due to the speed they are running, mine is in focus and it looks like I am walking....I blame the camera man.... Great night, great banter, supporting a good cause..see you next week.
No Garry you just timed it perfectly so your picture came out clearly....it was my plan too but I failed miserably. It was a lovely evening and a great team as always!
