With Shaun off running fast somewhere, Simon was leading this week's Camden run. 27 were in attendance, including first timers Lindsey, Nick and Stuart. Welcome!

After a few warm up exercises there were two jobs to tackle this evening. The first was a mission, which involved weeding a garden for one of our coaches. Paul, Chris, Alex, Claire and Jess were well up for it and zoomed off to get stuck in. They got masses done. See before and after pictures

The rest of us were off to Foodloop to help shift a load of woodchips to help feed their Composting Rocket. This amazing machine turns food waste into compost. See how it works here

We filled buckets/bins with the woodchip (using a combination of shovels and hands) and carried them back and forth and after a mere ten minutes or so the entire pile had been shifted. Efficient! This was great, cos it gave Clare the opportunity to give us a little tour and explain the process. She also very kindly handed out bags of the super compost for people to take home (remember, don't plant directly in this or we will end up with gigantic radioactive peas or something). We then had a cup of apple juice and were on our way.

Next was a jog via the canal to Granary Square for some "Death Circuits" (more fun than they sound). These ensured a nice all-over body workout (nobody died - wahoo!) before we moved on to our three person continuous relay. For this we split into teams of threes and spent one minute fast running, one minute fast skipping and another minute fast side-stepping back and forth (nobody fell over - wahoo!)

Happily puffed out, it was then back to the community centre for a quick stretch, natter and a drink (and some fish 'n' chips and mushy peas for Paul).

Great fun and as always a pleasure. Don't forget starter session in Camden on Monday. Tell all your friends who have been wanting to give GoodGym a try and come along yourself and show the newbies what it's all about.

Thanks to Axel for some lovely photos. A selection have been uploaded here. If you like what you see, email him at axel@goodgym.org for more.

Love and hugs,
Simo
