Mystery shopper
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Ealing.
- Thursday, 29th of August 2024
A metal belt buckle spontaneously twisting into an impossible configuration during the night. Several carefully filed documents disappearing. And now his set of shopping labels - carefully curated to ensure the weekly GoodGym visitor can locate the desired items in the supermarket - nowhere to be seen. Having rejected his only alternative hypothesis - that they’d accidentally been taken by a previous GoodGym shopper - Mr G concluded that he shares his house with an other-worldly being.
Fortunately he quickly assembled a new set of labels and I set off to get the shopping. It seemed the ghostly spirit had anticipated my visit however, as the breaded chicken and fish were missing from their usual place on the shelves. First mystery solved when I figured out they had undergone a horizontal translation to make way for higher margin products. Otherwise, everything situated normally, including Mr G’s eponymous yoghurts.
Back at Mr G’s, yet another mysterious disappearance - some of his TV channels. He reminisced about the time in his rebellious teenage years when he’d infuriated his friend’s mother by moving items around in her living room and we speculated that she was looking down on us now with a revengeful smile.

Not paranormal belt buckle again!
I lost the book of labels in Sainsbury's two weeks ago 😰 I wish I had a paranormal story about it, but no excuses this time.
By the way, top report, Alan. It's like an X-files screenplay!
I definitely returned the labels last week 😁
