Not a Vera funny pun

Four goodgymers went on an evening litter pick on the Quayside. I think I picked the time and date plus location combo badly as there was Vera filming, so the nearest car park was closed off and we had no choice of route since heading towards the Tyne bridge was blocked off due to filming. We had all thought there was actually some police incident going on in the area before we realised it was just Vera.
We also were getting the impression that the film crew might have cleaned up the Quayside before filming as it was very clean and 90% of everything we picked up at the beginning was cigarette butts. If we had tried to collect the alphabet as we do sometimes on litter picks, we would have just been going through all the terms for cigarettes at this point.
I had to rush off half to collect my cat from the vets due to a post bank holiday influx delaying his release after an x-ray. Many thanks to Liz for stepping up and taking pictures of the second half of the mission and thinking of the pun.
After I left Liz, Andrew and Emma continued down the car park we were heading to which usually has plenty of rubbish. It didn’t disappoint, there were 2 dens in the Shrub area near the car park where they filled the 3 bags with all sorts of rubbish.
Well done to Emma on her first good deed go give her a cheer!
Look out for future litter picks if you want to get involved in keeping Newcastle tidy!
