Tonight we helped out at the Ouseburn Trust. This is always a brilliant task and one that we always enjoy.
I was there a whole 40 minutes early. I've been working on improving my running recently (with Anji's brilliant help/advice) so I surprised myself with my timings. It was nice though to just sit and enjoy the scenery.
I was then joined by Lizzie and Elli, both completely new to GoodGym and their first ever Good deed which is exciting!! Well done both of you!
We were then joined by Laura, Sam, Tom, Abi and Aimee.
Dave, the task owner was so organised (as usual!) with equipment ready including gloves, loppers, a register and hand gel.
Tonight we helped clear lots of hedges/brambles on a long section of narrow footpath to make it easier for people to social distance.
Myself, Abi, Lizzie and Elli volunteered to take it in turns to help keep a watch out for pedestrians and cyclists, to make them aware of what we were doing, which was an important job and really appreciated!
Thankfully it didn't rain and we all really enjoyed it and I think we could have just kept going. We made a massive difference and Dave was really pleased with our efforts, as he said it was a huge task that they hadn't managed to complete.
