Pallet plank pickup
12 GoodGymers made their way 7km to help their local community in Hackney.
- Tuesday, 23rd of April 2013
We were lucky with the weather last night for Tuesday’s 7Km run to SkyWay’s Blue Hut to haul some planks for their community garden.
The group set out from the lovely Coffee is My Cup of Tea by London Fields station and quickly picked up the pace through the park before ending up by the canal.
Managing to dodge dog walkers and cyclists, who were also enjoying the gorgeous weather, we arrived at the project ready for some heavy lifting.
SkyWay provides activities for youngsters in the area and they are currently building a community garden to grow veggies, herbs and even their own tea!
After half an hour or so of clearing and organising we were on our way again back down the canal and heading for home (or the pub in some cases!).
The group even managed an impressive sprint at the end to conclude another worthwhile GoodGym run.
Hope to see you all next time!
