Hilary and I were back at the Excel on Saturday, this time for an evening shift as following the recent extension of opening hours they've been a little stretched for volunteers towards the end of the day. After successfully completing and passing our lateral flow tests we were quickly assigned to our positions for the shift. Hilary expertly managed the "N1" stage of the journey into the vaccination hall, and even managed to swing herself a brief stint on the front desk which she'd had her eye on for some time... maybe next week it'll stretch to even longer.
Meanwhile I was back on pod entrance duty, where in between vaccinations the pod staff have come up with a great new game 'Guess the volunteer's day job'. I was incorrectly identified as a PE teacher, an art therapist/marriage counsellor, marketing and events, and even a long haul truck driver... great way to pass the time whilst waiting for vaccine recipients to arrive and gave me some new career ideas to consider if I fancy a change!
