Ready, Beddy, Go!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Thursday, 10th of June 2021
Cor, it’s a scorcher! An indoor task provided some respite from the sun for Andrew and Steve. Today we would dismantle Mr D’s old bed to help make space for a new one to be delivered by the NHS ahead of his discharge from hospital later today. Hooray!
A special congratulations to Andrew - who got his wings this week for his 100th deed!
Mr. D’s mum let us in and had already started the work, and even went on the hunt for a special spanner in the local market to make our job a little easier. Andrew and Steve made light work of the bed frame, and Mr. D’s mum grabbed us a drink of water and helped us get the whole thing outside, bit by bit, to the refuse pickup point.
Done in next to no time, Mr. D’s mum was really thankful and it was clear it was a load off her list of things to do to prepare the home. We wish Mr. D a happy return home!
