Rescue at the new Thrift Wood
3 GoodGymers made their way to help the Braywick Nature Centre in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Three runners from Cox Green ran into Ockwells and to the back of the land to complete a task that began the week before.
Sophie, Laura and Allora met at Ockwells Park, and all wearing their red GoodGym t-shirts.
The three then ran just under 1km to the back of the park to the small gated area, known as the new Thrift Wood.
The area is being managed by Braywick Nature Centre, who instigated the woodland creation project within the small area to increase biodiversity and mitigate climate change by planting an array of new trees.
Unfortunately, due to recent heatwaves, some of the trees have died. It was the role of Sophie, Laura and Allora to check each of the baby trees in a quarter of the gated area for any signs of life. If not, the trees were stripped of their support canes and spiral guard.
The canes were counted, and they had amassed a whopping 225 canes from the small area, leaving a wealth of land for the remaining living baby trees to thrive within and occupy.
Completing the task within an hour of starting, the three runners headed home in the same direction as the evening darkness closed in, with all managing a 6km run on average for the evening.
EDIT: Edit from Amy to add that this was Allora's 10th good deed with GoodGym. A big well done Allora!
