Ride London volunteering!

This was a full day of fun! I met one of the groups in Ilford Town to cycle over to Wanstead to meet the rest of riders for the Redbridge Cycling Campaign ride into central London. My role was a 'floating marshall' meaning I was responsible for photos/videos and most importantly marshalling, helping ensure there were no gaps between riders, that we had a good on-road position and that less experience marshalls had the right support and guidance. Marshalling is an exhausting feat as you are always on the look out for what can go wrong, unruly cars and just general alertness required when you have a group of 100 or so people!

Of course, this role was part of the marshall team and it was very rewarding, if exhausting!
