Road closed; a (Copy)thorny issue!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help their local community in Southampton.

I volunteered as a marshall at the Copythorne 5 and 10km races. Started welcoming people to the site and directing them to the race number tent. Then I claimed my free cheeseburger from the bbq, before heading off to my marshall point at the road closure. Luckily I had a seasoned pro marshaller (Sharon) with me because we had quite a few irate people in cars and motorbikes who 'hadn't seen the road closure signs' that had been up for weeks! We also had a young girl who fell over and hurt her ankle so we had to call the ambulance to come and collect her (luckily she was OK in the end just a bit shaken up with a sore ankle).
Well done to fellow Goodgymers Wilson and Ellie & Blue who ran the 10 and 5km races; was nice to be able to cheer them on.
