Seeing the Benefit
6 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Birmingham.

The freezing conditions put paid to my usual opportunity to volunteer at Perry Hall parkrun, as the frozen paths there were far too slippery to host a safe event. So I took myself off to Edgbaston Reservoir, as I knew many of our Goodgym community were helping out. This gave me a unique view as I ran the course, to see how our volunteering allows opportunities like this for everyone to exercise together. Miriam was at the starting line in her role as timekeeper, so I got some great encouragement from her at the start, the middle and the very end of the run. As I ran the course, I twice went past Ryan, Richard and Liam as they were out marshaling and giving great support every time. I really enjoyed the run, their cheers and clapping motivating me to run strong. Even better was the chance to get together after the run to catch up and take a few pictures before we all made our way into the rest of the day. Thank you Birmingham Goodgymers!
