As the weather gets colder, the Good Gymers get fitter. 11 fantastic souls met at the usual location for a really short run – blink and you’ll miss it! We met with Sara of Incredible Edible where we were issued with trowels and began to clear three vegetable plots that had been neglected for a while.
Like our run, the task didn’t last long – many hands made very light work and after only 20 minutes we had cleared the beds. As we cleared, we kept an eagle eye out for some spuds which had been left by previous gardeners – a good haul of tiny tatties was found and hopefully served as someone’s well-earned dinner!
Near-by Queens Square beckoned. As the main pack ran enough laps of the square to make the run 3 miles long in total, coach Pru set up a set of circuits. Lunges, press ups, and various exercises using a skipping rope (Kim is the skipping queen!) a tennis ball and dynabands challenged the Good Gym crew in ways that they were perhaps not used to.
Tonight's run was really heavily exercised based, but like any of our usual volunteering tasks, the gang attacked the exercises with action packed vigour! Well-done Bristol buddies!
