Sleigh Beds Ring, Are You Listenin’
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Wednesday, 18th of December 2019
Today’s mission saw GoodGym’s Latoya and Steve team up with Mrs R’s OT to dismantle her old bed and make room for a hospital bed to be delivered. This means Mrs R can be discharged from hospital and will be in her own home for Christmas. It goes without saying that this makes a huge difference!
There are a lot of similar tasks this time of year, so keep a look out on the website and help if you can!
On a deceptively warm December lunchtime, Steve arrived over-layered and overheated from the short run over, and Latoya arrived calm and composed, ready to help despite having just finished a night shift - what a hero.
Mrs R’s OT showed us into the flat and explained that as Mrs R doesn’t have family around to help, GoodGym is making it possible for her to come home for Christmas. She also mentioned that she is trying to get back into running and so we spent the mission trying to tempt her to come along to a group run or join GoodGym (do it!). She also said my quote of the week:
“I can’t remember how we did this before GoodGym!”
Hey everyone! We’re totally indispensable now!
Happy holidays all Latoya and Steve
