On a beautiful Saturday morning, eight GoodGymers arrived at Surrey Docks Farm to meet Kate, the Farm coordinator as she had plenty of tasks for GoodGym this month.
It was Nicola and Patrick's first ever good deed with GoodGym, so Sam welcomed them with his classic GoodGym speech as slowly Miranda, Kim, Simon and Az arrived.
We started proceedings with a short intro and the ice breaker question today was to do with it being Halloween on Monday, so Sam asked everyone their favourite horror film. We had classics like The Shining and Silence of the Lambs, but also new ones like Nope!
We all started off as a team in the goats pen sweeping away the goats 💩 and chopping up the branches that the goat stripped bare and left barkless, which we did in 45 minutes.
At this point, Kim and Simon left as Simon had to rush off for the Cross Country.
We split into Team Hops and Team Leaves. Miranda, Az and Maria chose Team Hops as they tore down the dead hops on the fence inside and out of the Farm. Whilst Team Leaves consisting of Sam, Patrick and Nicola swept the Thames Path and garden area of leaves before putting this leaf mulch in a tonne bag.
These two tasks took us up to midday before we spent the last 30 minutes roaming the Farm to see the piglets, sheep and goats.
