the task
This week we were starting a new task at the Marcus Garvey Library in Tottenham Green.
After a bit of a chin wag we all headed out for our briefing and warm up. Everyone seemed to love the “not in my back yard’ warm up. It looked like so much fun we had some local kids join in.. I think it was the same kids who joined in the last time we did this warm up. They were a nice. Briefing and warm up done we split into two groups with one heading down to Bruce Grove Youth Centre with Dashing Dave and the other sticking with me and heading for the library (the long way round). Unfortunately Dashing Dave and his bunch were unable to get access so they ran back up to us and before long we were all happily grafting away together.
The space we were working on is at the back of the library and will be a lovely place to read and relax for it’s users. The space had definitely seen better days and now that we’re getting stuck in it’ll be seeing a few more in the near future. Everyone worked away so hard at clearing, snipping, cutting and shifting. The area was pretty overgrown when we started but once we were finished it looked a damn sight better.
As our time ran out we packed up and headed of to do our plank off and warm down. Shouts out to Dave who held a plank for near on 4 minutes (3:48) and our newcomer gave it a pretty good effort too with a time of 2:52. Well done guys.
Shouts out to David for the pun too.. nice one!!
Thanks to Dashing Dave for the support as usual..
Massive welcome back to Sarah too =)
