4 people ran 6k to do a litter pick on our adopted part of the canal
This morning was GoodGym Brum's first ever starter session, running from Up and Running right in the heart of the city centre.
On a rather drizzly morning we were warmly welcomed by the staff at the shop. We had one new starter, as Kate joined us for the first time.
We headed down to the canal, running around 1 mile or 1.6k before stopping with our litter picking 'kit' and spending around 15 minutes or so doing our good deed. We managed to fill to bags of rubbish, so great work with just the four of us!
Once we dumped the bags off we headed back a long the canal in the opposite direction. Aaron then took us on a little detour round the back of the city centre to add a little extra distance on. We were virtually back to our base when I decided to throw in a little 'up tempo' work. The groups mission was to run a lap around Colmore Row as fast as they could! Aaron led the way with Kate putting in a great effort to finish not far behind. Once done we all jogged one more lap together as a little cool down. Job done!
On Tuesday we will be out doing good once again, it would be great if you could join us. sign up here.
