5 Running painters, 1 hostel lounge, 0 masking tape
Last night GGNewham welcomed two new runners James and Rachel who during the evening were christened by way of 'how much blue paint did you get on you?'
We left the Aquatics Centre, ran up the stairs, across the bridge and pierced straight through 'shopper traffic' along the second bridge. It's now becoming more of a risky venture as determined shoppers head into Westfield on a Christmas mission. I anticipate us looking like red dodgems as we weave in and out of them next time.
3k later we found ourselves in Forest Gate at the reception of Durning Hall. We collected our tools and some more paints generously donated by the Forest Recycling Project and made our way up several flights of stairs to the Hostel Lounge. We quickly realised we were missing a vital tool; masking tape, so decided not to get too trigger happy near the edges - we'll save that for another time.
Half an hour flew by as our conversation topics went deeper and deeper (you had to be there). Before we knew it we were deconstructing our work areas and out of there like ninjas. As we made our way back into the park we were met with gale force winds at the foot Westfield, my conclusion - we were being pushed back into the shops. (I'll give in next time)
Great work guys, same time next week
Kirsty
