The Loneliness of the Short Distance Runner
1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Ealing Soup Kitchen in Ealing.

Sevan was the only GoodGymer helping out at this evening's Ealing Soup Kitchen shift. Usually he'd be stationed in one place to help clients by serving food or clothes. This time Emma, the task owner, said that he'd be "the runner". Sevan looked around the 10 metre by 10 metre hall and wondered where he'd be running to 🤨
Sevan soon found out that he'd be delivering trays of hot meals from the kitchen on one side of the hall to the food counter on the other. That sounded easy enough. As service started, the first tray vanished in a few minutes and Sevan was rushing back and forward to keep the servers stocked with today's special, chickpea curry and rice. As the cooks became slower at filling the containers, he started taking handfuls of 🥡🥡🥡 or 🥡🥡, then eventually moving 🥡 at a time as soon as it was filled. Good thing that he had some comfy 👟 on
As the initial rush of clients for food slowed down and the hot food trays filled back up with deliveries from the kitchen, Sevan moved onto to a range of other tasks. First he prepared some mini snack bags with only 1 drink and 1 Nakd bar in them, then he rummaged around some storage bags to restock small sized clothes and finally he was asked to categorise all of the carrier bags into those suitable for food, for snacks or for clothing.
