Troop GG deployed to the Sally Army
15 GoodGymers made their way 9.0km to help their local community in Bournemouth.
- Wednesday, 21st of September 2016
Our biggest groups to date!
15 runners cover up to 9.5km and made light work of revamping the garden of the BH1 Salvation Army project.
Amazing to see so many of you gathering at Urban Reef, braving the colder weather for our 6th GG Bournemouth run.
We briefed and got to know the new faces before setting off to our favourite east cliff zigzag. I see the progress from you guys - hope you felt it too as you breezed up to the cliff top.
We ran through the leafy streets of Eastcliff and over to number 107 Palmerston Road, home to the BH1 project. Ruth met us there and told us how the project allows up to a hundred homeless shower, eat, do laundry and get warm every single day - what an amazing scheme!
Goodgymers, you worked so well as a team in such a small space - clearing the garden of smoking paraphernalia and cleaning windows. Manuel gallantly rescued some rosemary and added a challenge to his run home by carrying 3 plants - loving your work!!
As we finished in super swift time we were able to take a longer we route home. Perhaps longer than we anticipated!! A total of 9.5km was covered by the racing snakes - just brilliant!
Next week we return so see how our garden at The Grove Hotel is looking.
6:15pm Urban Reef - let's run, have fun and see the setting of the sun!
