Turning Over A New Leaflet

The task for this evening was to deliver leaflets promoting a local charitable group; which happened to be an especially great group this time (or GG for short!). We met up at Glass House as usual and had a brief discussion about where we would be spreading the good word tonight. A map with a planned route on had been printed off previously, and thankfully received approval from the squad. We decided to start at the bottom of the planned area and work our way up to Locke Park so we could utilize the fitness equipment there afterwards.
Hitting the mail on the head
We raced up Racecommon Road for about 800 m, and arrived at our first street earmarked for delivery. Here we divided up the leaflets between us, and decided that two of us would do alternating houses on one side of the street and the other one would do all houses on the other side. We did Blenheim Gardens and Frederick Avenue, before going along Raley Street, then down St Edwards Avenue and over the road to Della Avenue. As usual on leafletting tasks we got the odd barking dog, stiff gate and hidden letterbox just to make our delivery duties more interesting. We were so fast and efficient with our pacy posting that we ran out of leaflets sooner than expected (note to self: print more than are needed incase of fast fingered folk). This meant that we could do an extended fitness session in Locke Park.
Tying ourselves in squats
In the park we first headed towards the multigym equipment. We would do 20 reps (or equivalent) on each machine. We each picked a piece of gym apparatus and got going. There were 5 pieces to work around, so in total we did 100 reps on each of these. So pumped up by this activity, we decided to jog on to the fixed bars to do some further fitness. We did some outward-faced-hand pull-ups with legs outstretched on the ground, climbs over a high frame, and tricep dips on the parallel bars. All bar none had fun on the bars. We finished our exercise session with Kirsty trying to instruct James on some acrobatics- it may be possible to teach an old dog new tricks... hold the bar, put your feet up through your arms and all the way around so that you can land on your feet. Needless to say, this didn't work for James and it ended up with just dangling upside-down by the legs. Nevertheless it was flipping fun to try it. We grabbed some quick photos of us hanging around, before heading off to run back, with squatting at traffic lights as always, and then stretch off.
