Volunteering at Exeter Covid vaccination centre
1 GoodGymer made their way to help their local community in Exeter.

I did my first volunteering shift at the Exeter Covid-19 mass vaccination centre. After donning a high vis jacket I was partnered up with Keith who had done several shifts. Over the 4 hour period we rotated around several positions which involved directing people in the car park, showing them in to the building and providing hand sanitiser, directing people into the queuing system and monitoring those having their 15 minute sit down post-vaccine and wiping chairs when they'd gone. It was a great experience- incredibly well organised, a very friendly bunch of volunteers and polite and grateful patients. I hope to go back soon for more shifts.
