Six brave souls took on the elements to deliver flyers to the Thorlands Estate
There was wind, slick pavements and biting cold but the hardy group of Katie, Adam, Jessie, Lindy, Shauna and Tim set off from base at Papa's Park and made the 1.7km run to Thorlands Estate. Tim led the group out and Katie made sure no-one was left behind and the group made it down in great time to be confronted by the multiple estates of Thorlands.
With door fobs at the ready it was 3-2-1-GO ⏱ and they were off, splitting each block into floors and racing to get as many flyers through doors as possible. The flyers themselves were advertising all the upcoming events offered by WATMOS to the residents of Thorlands including volunteering and training opportunities - a very worthwhile task indeed!
Incredibly the runners managed well over a hundred flyers in 30 minutes covering most of the blocks on the far side of the estate - what an achievement 💪
Happily no-one was bitten by a letterbox (or a pet) and the group were back at Papa's safely for a bit of fitness (wall-less wall-sits anyone??) and a warm down.
Huge thanks to Katie as well for bringing both vegan and non vegan cookies, a great way to send everyone home at the end. 😍
