6 Super strong GoodGymers ran 5k to St Andrews Youth club to lift, shift and reorganise their very full Store cupboard.
On a crazy weather evening in Central London we managed to avoid the intermittent hail showers and complete a perfectly timed Goodgym task!
Setting off from the New Balance store we welcomed some Goodgym and GoodGym Westminster first timers to the mix.
A weaving 1.5k run down to St James's Park warmed us up where we got down to a series of running drills and shuttle runs along Pall Mall. With a bounce in our step we continued on to St Andrews Youth Club which is the oldest youth club in the world!!
We met Adrian and got to work on a massive task of first emptying an overflowing store cupboard full of sports equipment. Then sorting it and with the help of some of the youth club members who carried the broken, ancient and not needed kit away to the bins. We now had space to re stack a very neat store cupboard with a little Tetris action with the last 2 massive blue gymnastics mats.
In the nick of time we were done with a quick game of dodge the flying football we were off back to base! Adding in a serious 500m hill sprint back up St James's for good measure.
Arriving back at perfect time for a stretch and clap before we danced off into the evening with a feel good run and task 100% complete!
Hope to see you all next week when we head to Oasis community garden to help them with some epic watering! Hope to see you there!!
Best of luck to David in his pursuit of 3 legged Half marathon glory in Hackney Half on Sunday!! Can't wait to her all about it next week!!
Smooth Running
