What's a good couch phrase?!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Wednesday, 1st of May 2019
This morning (according to my diary, on Batman day!) I met up with Abi for a pre-work mission in Islington for Mrs J.
Mrs J is currently in hospital and needs space to be made in her home for a hospital bed to allow her to come home. Today, Abi and I were to meet Mrs J's occupational therapist (OT) to move around some furniture to allow this to happen.
On arrival, we introduced ourselves to the OT to see what needed to be done. The OT was doing a lot of the set up and cleaning herself, and so our task today was very simple, involving only the removal of a sofa from Mrs J's living room to her kitchen.
This was a straightforward move (ignoring all of the angles of course), although Abi confessed herself to be a little disconcerted by some heavy breathing I did mid-move (there was a spider on the sofa I was trying to blow away 😬).
Sofa moved, Abi and I chatted with the OT for a few moments more (apparently the hospital furniture is arriving about 2 hours after our start time), before making our goodbyes.
Have fun on your next mission and see you at the Camden group run, Abi!
