Eight runners ran 4km to help Sustrans keep the National Cycle Network tidy
Turning up to GoodGym in daylight, what a treat! Not long now until we can actually carry out our tasks in light too. After a slightly extended briefing where we all promised not to shake hands and to sneeze into our elbows we set off along the river on National Cycle Network route 6 arriving at our dirty destination in good time.
The section we headed to tonight usually comprises 500m of the NCN between Slater St and Abbey Park with our plan being to enjoy/endure some fitness around the Abbey Park Oval upon completion. The best laid plans...
Such was the density of the litter we barely made it to the bridge under St Margaret's Way when we ran out of time with our bags filled to the brim with and kinds of discarded waste...and an umbrella!
Plan B enacted, we found a suitable place (I've emailed the council to let them know it was us!) for our treasure and headed to Rally Park en route back for a couple of laps in lieu of the AP Oval.
Super work tonight folks!
Happy running, HD
