We arrived at Grantham Practise ready to empty a planter of soil and then move it up the road. Simple, right? Well, not so simple when the planter is massive, you only have two wheelbarrows and one of them has a crazily flat tyre.
But all that isn't a match for four GoodGymmers!
Chloe and Clare (literally) jumped in and started digging out the soil into the one working wheelbarrow. When it was full, Steve and Samantha went to other site to empty the soil there and retrieve the other wheelbarrow. Then Steve took a full wheelbarrow to the new site while we filled another. And then the relay began. We would start wheeling a full barrow across but when we met Steve, we'd swap it for an empty one with him taking the soil to where it should be.
After an hour and a half later and 17 wheelbarrows full (and that includes an incredibly unwieldy flat-tyred one!), we had an empty planter. And then we realised just how heavy even empty planters were so we admitted defeat (though maybe secretly it was because we enjoyed it so much and just wanted to come back another day!?).
