For the latest GoodGym Bristol run we headed back to Metford Road Allotments in Redland. We met at our new base (the wonderful) Roll for the Soul on Quay Street and set off up the steep streets to Redland, with a brief pause at St Michael’s Church for some stretching.
At the allotments we split into two groups to complete 2 tasks. The first group dug over two empty beds and started to dig and pickaxe a new plot. The second group set about completing the task from last week – clearing a really overgrown plot of brambles, ash trees and damson trees. Both tasks were tough work but really satisfying. We were rewarded for our hard work with a smorgasbord of white, pink, red and black berries, giving us a vital energy boost to head back down the hill to where we started. Both of the new members, Jess and Natalie, did brilliantly on what was a really tough run for their first time and got really stuck into the task!
Next run is same time next week – meet 6.30 at Roll for the Soul on Wednesday 15th August.
