New Year, new clean up to keep the harbour (and ultimately, the ocean) as litter-free as possible.
Clean Up Bristol Harbour have some swanky kit from Bristol Waste including high viz and life preservers because they go out on boats!
Julie donned the life vest and took to the water whilst Dave stayed on dry land and met up with Bryony and Charlotte joining in and Melanie needing to leave early and missing out on the fun of seeing the haul of items rescued from the sea.
Great work all round before Storm Isha can sweep any more debris out to see the sea.

In case you'd thought you'd found your fortune on a litter pick, it turns out there's no money in coffee cups. It's official, and a little detailed...
We magnanimously allowed* the other litter pickers to fish the litter from the harbour from the Harbour Master's boats, and instead trawled the harbourside for a huge number of cigarette butts, bottle tops and other litter and recycling. The luxury of each having a pair of Mr Grabby-Hands, courtesy of Bristol Waste, meant the streets were left cleaner whilst our backs were saved from much bending, and bags were filled before we returned to the Arnolfini pontoon with our haul and retired to the YHA Grain House for coffee and cake to warm up.
Well done, team!
*They beat us to the boats and, as we were in GG t-shirts, we felt we couldn't throw them overboard
