Steamy windows

Friday 21st August 2020

After a 4.4k walk from home, I was greeted by Cloe Who after confirming a few Covid-19 details I was set the task of sorting out the hangers into colour coded /size. If you have minor OCD Like me, I was in heaven. 😂 My second task was my favourite when we come here, steaming a rail full of clothes ready to be put onto the shop rails. After 45 minutes of solid work I’d finished my task, Cloe was pleased and looking forward to seeing 2more GoodGym tomorrow

EACH and everyone did a good deed

Saturday 25th January 2020

Written by Steven Hitcham

This morning was our annual January Saturday Group Run. It felt strange doing a Group Run this time of year in daylight.

A few people had come straight from Parkrun, that is good dedication!

Congratulations Jasmine who was completing her 50th good deed!

Once we arrived at EACH Charity Shop, they were very organised in giving us specific roles, this helped so it didn't end up just being a free for all in a tight for space shop.

There were lots of tasks to do: culling old stock, sorting hangers, re-organising the book shelf, steaming clothes (Elizabeth), sorting new donations and more!

Time flew by and before we knew it we'd been there for 45 minutes so it was time to head off... not before Katy proved that the January Challenge was successful in losing weight as you can see by her jeans in the photo haha.

On Monday we are visiting Ellacombe Care Home.

EACH of us gave a helping hand

Saturday 12th January 2019

Written by Steven Hitcham

This morning was a one off Saturday Group Run and we visited EACH Charity Shop on Unthank Road. The jobs were to clear the sale items (and replace them with ladies bags and hats etc.), hang out some ladies clothes donations and sort through the book shelves to put them in category order.

Bill was Back-Runner and Sandra Walk-Leader :-)

Michelle brought her husband Martin along for his 1st GoodGym experience.

It was only about 1km each way so we headed through Chapelfield Gardens (and did some walking lunges through there!). Catherine met us at the task with her two little helpers.

The team of GoodGymers split into three groups for each of the tasks and smashed through 45 minutes of hard work.

Once we got back to The Forum, we had a stretch and then a few of us went for breakfast at The Bell. Perfect Saturday morning.

Monday evening we've got a Litter Pick @ West Earlham Woods.

EACH of those books got relocated... then we went for brunch

Saturday 13th January 2018

Written by Steven Hitcham

This was our 1st ever Saturday GoodGym starter session in Norwich.

It was lovely to have new runners Rosie, Sandra (Catherine's Mummy) & Tom join us this morning :-)

With us neck and neck with Ipswich on the January Challenge we were motivated to get some extra km's in!

Extra motivation was that some of us were going for brunch after the run... my belly was already rumbling.

We headed to the EACH Charity Shop on Unthank Road to help re-organise some of the stock after Christmas, price up items and 4 of the runners went and did a leaflet drop off Earlham Road (more kms!). Oh... and while we were there Bill decided to do a bit of cuppa tea making too.

5 of the GoodGym-ers were stripping the books off the shelves, relocating the shelves and then re-pricing and re-stacking the shelves... there was a lot going on this morning!

The 4 who were doing the leaflet drop returned after 30 minutes and then we started to get everyone together (although I'm sure they were trying to delay the fitness session that awaited them!).

On the way back we stopped off in Chapelfield Gardens for a sprint session before a stretch back at The Forum.

Myself, Mel, Becky, Bill, Jasmine & Katy then headed for some brunch at Guildhall Britannia with Mel's husband.

The next run is on Monday.

EACH of us Wig-ging it

Monday 4th December 2017

Written by Steven Hitcham

This evening we visited EACH (East Anglian Children's Hospice) and their charity shop on Unthank Road to help in the shop and do a leaflet drop around the local area.

Both Vicky and Karen have now past 10 Group Runs... keep putting in the hard work ladies.

We started with a warm up outside The Forum - no rude interruptions this week, just an old lady who joined in with our skipping.

It was just over 1km to the EACH charity shop and when we arrived Sally was there to greet us with the Xmas Tunes playing in the shop. 2 people got to stay in the shop to help sort items out and the rest of the crew went on a leaflet and charity bag drop before they returned and helped in the shop... apart from Bill who put mud from his trainers everywhere and then had to hover it up ;-) haha.

I'm not sure if the most disturbing moment of the evening was me trying to dance like Michael Jackson with a hat on or trying to sing Walking in the Air by Aled Jones... the jury is out on that one.

We then set back off to The Forum on a slightly longer route back plus some wall step ups on the way.

Next week is our last run before Christmas and we're revisiting Angelica's Rainbow and the Marlpit Arms... where they're also putting on mince pies and mulled wine for us! Despite myself, Rob, Calum, Robert & Jasmine all returning from our festive trip to Prague/Krakow early that morning - most of us shall see you there!
