We Run Ealing

Delivering inclusive community-focused running activities and related volunteering for people of all ages and abilities in Ealing

WE RUN EALING is the charitable arm of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon.

We deliver community-focused running initiatives, many of which are free and open to people of all abilities.

Previously known as EHM Legacy, thanks to Ealing Half Marathon, we have done heaps of stuff over the last ten years to help get people moving in Ealing.

We have had installed a new drinking fountain installed Lammas Park – popular with humans and dogs! During lockdown we arranged events to encourage Ealing residents to run or walk to dozens of local parks.

More recently we have brought the Blended Trails trail-running concept to Ealing and launched Ealing’s first ever Food Bank Run, in partnership with GoodGym and parkrun.

81 GoodGymers have supported We Run Ealing with 43 tasks.

Sign your name across my half

Tuesday 30th September

Written by Harvey Gallagher (he/him)

It takes two (teams of GoodGym Ealing people) to make a dream come true - the dream of the streets of Ealing free from the signs of an amazing community half marathon. And by the time our teams had finished, indeed, there were no signs! They were all unclipped and packed neatly away in some of those big blue bags that look a bit like the ones from a famous Scandinavian superstore. Ealing - where the streets have no signs, ahaaa...til next year's Ealing half marathon!

Re-purposing running for rugs

Saturday 20th September

Written by Harvey Gallagher (he/him)

A double header for the GoodGym Ealing team today. After helping out at Southall parkrun, we gathered with other parkrunners/volunteers/We Run Ealing and headed down to Parkside Yards Green Quarter. Our team had collect unwanted running kit to donate to the wonderful Open Southall creative hub as part of Ealing Climate Week. Our old kit will be turned into twine and re-purposed as rugs and mats for local people.

And parkrunners get 20% discount on coffee at Southall Coffee House - that's what they call a win-win!

Lammas back, Lammas back, Lammas back for good!

Friday 1st August

Written by Harvey Gallagher (he/him)

These last few months the Ealing Mile route has taken our runners and park users past something akin to an excavation site as drainage issues were worked on. But today, Lammas Park is beautiful again!

And it didn't rain!

We're back in October as September is the big one - the Ealing Half Marathon!

Chalk another one up!

Friday 2nd May

Written by Harvey Gallagher (he/him)

Our lone GoodGymer Harvey cycled across sunny Ealing to help out at the monthly Ealing Mile. There was course checking (especially important with so much work going on in the park), direction arrow chalking and marshaling on the agenda. With younger runners at school, this was an opportunity for the, ahem, more mature runners to make an impact! And they did, of course.

Friday 4th April

A warm day unfolded for this month's Ealing Mile organised by We Run Ealing. But that also made it a lovely day to help out! 27 runners ran the mile course round our regular park route.

The only 10k to be a part of this Sunday!

Sunday 23rd February

Written by Harvey Gallagher (he/him)

We love supporting our local community to get active! And the community came out to run, walk and cheer the West London 10k. The venue for the race, Gunnersbury Park, is shared between the London boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow. Of course, it takes a lot of volunteers to make these events happen. Our GoodGym marshal trio of Michelle, Alan and Harvey represent not only both boroughs, but also friendship across (football) borders - Leicester, Newcastle and Sunderland.

GoodGym - bringing people from all walks of life together!
