75 GoodGymers have supported Knavesmire Junior parkrun with 19 tasks.

13 dedicated GoodGymmers joined a host of (equally dedicated) regular junior parkrun volunteers for the first of 5 possible tasks today.
Conditions were “fresh” (aka freezing) and sadly worsened the closer we got to 9am with a pleasant snow-covered Knavesmire soon transformed into a windy sleety (and did I mention cold?) landscape. Ed swiftly added more layers as he realised that shorts maybe weren’t the best idea today…
Possible icy conditions necessitated the B course, which although looking longer than 2k, actually wasn’t (turns out the team know exactly what they’re doing, never in doubt!)
Talking of another team never to doubt, the incredible 70 children who turned up with their parents and completed parkrun in the aforementioned (not ideal) weather conditions!
GoodGymmers filled lots of volunteer positions today, including marshalls (particular kudos to Arthur W for being there in the freezing cold, and Amy W for giving up her scarf for Fergie), timekeepers (well done Griffs, especially for volunteering for a no-gloves job!), token support and tailwalkers.
Soon, the final child had passed the finish line and it was time to warm up (briefly for some who were soon heading to the next task).

While most of the GG help this sunday morning were on the way to help out with Brass Monkey Pete, Michel and Michael fitted in a quick task helping out with Junior Park Run. All went well and credit to Michael who swapped his Park Director bib for his running bib to arrive in time to run Brass Monkey alongside 1800 others and several other GGers...

The Juniors were not hanging about this morning! They skated past 10 Goodgym ice marshals to speed home. From the lead lad to the last little snowman, they all showed cheerful enthusiasm. No one cried this week, - and neither did any of the kids! Ha ha! Thanks for getting out of your warm beds to help out on the ice rink, GGs. We also spotted two dancing dogs on the ice and a gaggle of geese, maybe flying off to warmer climbs. There is something about ice that kids are drawn to. It's good to become a kid again. Just take it n 'ice and fr'eezy out there!

Of course Junior park Run is still on! What's a few inches of snow to intrepid juniors?! By hook or by crook or by sledge, Good Gymers braved the early morning snow to fulfill their promise. We even had a few extras who just couldn't wait to get out there! Best task EVER!
After a wee wait for families to arrive, they were off! It was hard going on the slippery stuff but luckily some snow men, women and a snow snake lined the route to cheer them on. Not sure who was most excited- volunteers or runners?
With the bribe of the ultimate hot chocolate, everyone completed the run with smiles and rosy cheeks, dodging snow balls across the finishing line!
Well, Ggers and juniors are made of the 'white' stuff, after all!

We had a good turnout of volunteers to support our younger runners.
Many then headed off to support the Brass Monkey round the corner afterwards. Another busy day!

We had a great turnout of volunteers to support the first Junior Parkrun of the year.
Ed got everyone warmed up with his swim themed warm up. We then had lots of marshalls cheering and encouraging, then Vicky at the end to hand out the tokens.
Some of us then headed off to another task via Vicky's for a coffee refuel.
