Sunday 30th November

A brisk wind greeted us this Sunday, reminding everyone that winter is just around the corner, but the cold weather didn't deter the fantastic juniors at Lesnes Abbey Woods parkrun!
I had the pleasure of volunteering as the Tail Walker, ensuring that every runner, jogger, and walker made it safely around the course, and leaving no one behind.
It was wonderful to see so many little hands and feet moving quickly to stay warm!
Thank you to all the juniors who came out, and we look forward to seeing everyone back next week to earn those post-run treats.

It was a wet start to the day at Lesnes Abbey Woods junior parkrun, but the morning rain couldn't dampen the incredible spirit of our young runners! As your warm-up manager, I was thrilled to see so many smiling faces jumping and stretching, ready to take on the challenge, regardless of the drizzle. This dedication and enthusiasm always makes Sunday mornings special, proving that a little bit of rain just makes the achievements all the more impressive. The perseverance of all the little runners paid off spectacularly! Midway through the event, the clouds parted just enough to treat everyone to the stunning, scenic beauty of the park, complete with a brilliant rainbow arching over the course—a true cherry on top for everyone who braved the weather. Thank you, as always, to the brilliant hi-viz heroes who marshaled in the damp conditions, ensuring a safe and successful event for all our fabulous juniors.

A crisp autumn morning brought us out to Lesnes Abbey Woods junior parkrun for event #472 this past Sunday. We saw 44 fantastic juniors run, jog, and walk their way around the course!
It was a special day for our family, as my 5-year-old completed their first-ever junior parkrun and also joined me for their first volunteering role as part of the pre-event setup crew.
We absolutely loved getting the course ready and are officially keen to join the hi-viz team every week!
Another great Sunday spent supporting the community and the future of parkrun!

With a sunny, colourful start line, we were at Lesnes Abbey Woods junior parkrun marshaling 57 young runners around the three lap course.
High fives and smiles galore.
Volunteering at junior parkrun is such a great way to get involved in the local community.
Same place, same time next week... see you there?

Sunday morning, 8.55am, and there's a buzz at Lesnes Abbey Woods that can only mean one thing... junior parkrun.
We joined the hi-viz team to cheer and marshal the young runners and parents around the three lap course. Some ran, some walked. I'm not sure who enjoyed the high fives more, them or us ✋.
Good fun all round, then we headed to the cafe to meet the Friends of Lesnes Abbey and Woods for their monthly conservation session.

Sun-day at Lesnes Abbey Woods junior parkrun for a hi-viz double-act by GoodGym Bexley and GoodGym Greenwich 😎.
Between us we tail walked, park walked, marshaled and barcode scanned while the young runners and their overheating parents completed the three lap course.
After cooling iced coffees at the Chestnuts kiosk, we made our way by bus and bike to Erith to join more GoodGymer friends for a lovely chatty walk along the Thames to Woolwich.
What a lovely morning.
