This couldn't have come at a better time for me. The night before, I was feeling low and looked for something wholesome to do where I would be contributing and making a difference whilst doing something I love - being outside. I planted my first ever tree and met some incredible, inspirational and likeminded people. It was nice to be surrounded by these people with a common interest and drive. I learnt a lot about how you plant a tree and was taught what was important in the process, plus I had some wonderful chats with new people which was exactly what I needed. The story telling at the end with Bernadette was SO much fun! She really injected a sense of hope into all of us and facilitated more discussions which we all benefitted from. Also... lunch was amazing! Thanks for a great day.

AJ and I joined in the afternoon session with Trees for Cities planting and mulching little shrubs in furze green. It was a sunny afternoon and by the end a truck load of drought tolerant flowers and shrubs had been planted along the edge of the park.
