Anika Qureshi earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Anika completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Anika was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Coventry Report written by Laura P (she/her)
This evening 7 GoodGym Coventry runners (+ Robin) made their way to the Foleshill Community Centre to support Feeding Coventry to get ready for their launch on Friday!
Laura and Katherine set off on their run from the city centre , and by the time they arrived, the other GoodGymmers had already got stuck in (literally) to the task of covering the shelves ready to store stock for the social supermarket. Meanwhile, Amy and Anika were arranging the stock on the shelves painted by GoodGym runners in the room painted by GoodGym runners...! See photos for the fantastic results!
Being mindful of the yoga class taking place next door, we quietly attempted to put the shelves back in place and quickly realised it was too squeaky and noisy, so moved on to the next task of cleaning storage cabinets ready for use. We then posed for some photos with the beautifully arranged tins of beans, bags of pasta and boxes of tea and room decorations and wished Helen and her team the best of luck for the launch on Friday!
It has been fantastic to see the transformation of the the social supermarket. The contributions from GoodGym runners through painting, cleaning, sorting, laying carpet, moving items and many other tasks, as well as supporting FareShare to collect donations in Tesco before Xmas is greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to Lil on her 50th task - looking forward to celebrating at our first birthday party next week!

This week 16 runners ran 5km to support St Mary and St Benedict Catholic School with some painting.
We set off from our new meeting point at the Alison Gingell building which is part of Coventry University. Goodgym members soon found the new meeting point and an army of red (and even a few black tops) assembled ready to find out more about this week’s task. We also welcomed Catherine and Eva for the first. We hoe you enjoyed your first session with us.
We soon set off on the short run over to the school with plenty of regrouping and chatter along the way. Once we arrived at the school, we were met by Pauline, the Headteacher, who explained the task and welcomed us. We quickly set about giving the school’s outdoor benches a brush down and varnish; prolonging their life for future enjoyment. Pauline explained that the benches are used for outdoor events and packed lunch picnics, and how the children benefit from being outdoors and having a nice environment to learn in. Whilst this was happening, several other members of the group completed some edging work around the paths. Once the task was completed we all enjoyed a short catch up in the staff room for a well deserved biscuit and chocolate or too. Paul, the school’s caretaker, checked our handiwork. It’s amazing how much can be done in a short space of time!
Before very long, it was time to head back to town. Despite this we still managed to fit in a few hill reps along the way with many people outdoing themselves and putting in maximum effort all the way to the final rep.. Great effort everyone.

18 GoodGym Coventry runners ran 8km to get to Coventry Social Supermarket to do good. This is a regular task venue for us and we have been helping create the Social Supermarket ready for it's launch.
Tonight was also the first deed after Allan and Laura achieved their 50 Good deeds over the weekend- well done both x They celebrated this run, by donning capes to run the streets of Coventry and Lil baked some awesome flapjacks, thanks Lil.
We knew that the distance would take us a while so whilst we regrouped at various points on the route, the runners took part in several activities to improve running strength, hill reps, squats and lunges as well as some press ups and tricep dips to strengthen our upper bodies.
At the task a chain was made to move crockery and cutlery from a store cupboard to the kitchen where they were then cleaned and put away. Some painting was also completed. It is great to see all the strange and lovely tasks we get to do at the Social Supermarket, thanks Ellie.
Sadly tonight was Brogan's last run before her adventures so on returning to the start location, we stretched, wished her well and had a quick drink. Thanks Deb for a trademark GoodGym stone.
Next week, we will be meeting at the Alison Gingell building see map
Have a lovely week, Liz x Someone left a hat tonight, was it yours Jack?

19 GoodGym Coventry runners relocated to the Council House and ran 5km to support the work of the Cyrenians in Coventry.
This evening started off a little differently at the Council House, where it was great to meet Jack, Karen and Pacharo who had come with us for the first time.
We set off to find our start location on The Martyr's close (Historical information here ), some runners opting for a slightly more scenic route , teams were given roads and quickly set off to deliver their bags. And we finished up a big hill, where at the top Meera tried to make friends with a local cat.
In no time at all, 400 bags were delivered on a route that took in a few hills. As this was not enough hills for our intrepid runners we set off to find some more hills on Puma Way (with all the sights and sounds of locals and the wildlife) to support our efforts.
We returned to the Council House, stretched and made plans for the next week. Next week, shoudl see some 50 run celebrations as well as post-run drinks to say farewell to Brogan as she sets off on her travels. Will be great to see you then. Liz x

But I've submitted the Yelp review regarding the abandonment, got my first group therapy session tonight to learn to deal with the neglect.

Hope it goes ok. Thankfully your feet were great for showing your location.
